Fall Is Here!

Fall is a time of self-renewal with more time to focus on health after the busyness of summer. The short, rainy days of Seattle winters may challenge one’s motivation to include regular physical activity in our lives, so fall is the perfect time to establish healthy exercise and body care habits.
Here is some inspiration to keep moving, reflect on the state of your health and do something for self-care. Massage, nutritional education, athletic training, therapeutic & fitness exercises, posture & gait training-  choose the right one for you!

Happy Feet this Fall

It is important to understand that your feet have a direct impact on the rest of your body and support you with each step.  A small abnormality in foot function can have a large impact on joints higher up in the body, causing pain and discomfort.  When you run, the pressure on your feet can be 3-4 times your body weight.  Even walking can produce more pressure than the sum of your body weight.

Getting your feet and gait analyzed can help identify imbalances that may be holding you back from performing at your best.  Knee, hip, and back pain may actually be coming from your feet!

FALL SPECIAL: Now through November 15, 2011
Computerized Gait Analysis & Biomechanic Assessment for only $65- a 35% savings
Also, 35% off Prescription Orthotics, with or without shoes!

September 2011 Newsletter

We had a beautiful Labor Day Weekend in Seattle and it looks like summer isn’t quite over yet! With these last few hot days, don’t forget to get plenty of water and electrolytes to keep you hydrated and operating at your best.

It has been wonderful being at my new location in South Lake Union for the summer months with sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, floating farmer’s markets, and picnics taking place just across the street at the lake.  If you haven’t had a chance  to stop by and see my new space yet its worth the trip.  The 5focus facility is beautiful and the health professionals that I work along side of are top in their field, each trained in a variety of effective health modalities from various movement techniques to a broad range of bodywork and nutrition.

The school year has begun and summer will soon transition into the cooler days of fall.  Now is the perfect time to make sure our bodies are in balance and moving with ease (see the below Gait & Orthotic Special) and our immune systems are in good shape and well prepared for the approaching flu season and sugar-rich holidays awaiting.   It is not uncommon to eat less salads and fruits this time of year, but eating plenty of fruits and vegetables are very important to help boslter the immune system.   They provide most vitamins and minerals that are required to repair the body as well as ward off viruses, bacterias and molds.

Fall sports are underway so it is important to make sure you’re replenishing your electrolytes to sustain energy and aid in recovery even when the temperature cools.  A great way to keep your immune system strong and get the electrolytes you need is a fabulous product called YOLI FUN™. FUN™ is an all natural mineral-charged formula which provides more electrolytes, potassium and magnesium than regular Gatorade™ or Powerade™.  Plus,  FUN™ contains NO Sugar, NO chemical dyes and NO preservatives.   When your pushing your muscles to the limit, lactic acid is the problem that will slow you down and cause unwanted soreness.  This acid neutralizing drink is scientifically proven to buffer lactic acid helping you go longer, greatly reduces cramping, minimizes muscle stiffness and assists in moving acid wastes in the body.

YOLI FUN™ is powered by Alkalete™, the acid neutralizing component that alkalizes the body.   If consumed regularly, it will assist the body in buffering acid waste build-up, producing a natural improvement in heath, greater energy and vitality, weight loss, pain reduction and more.
Whether you’re an ordinary person with a hectic on-the-go lifestyle, a weekend warrior, or a professional athlete, managing acid/alkaline pH levels in the blood and tissues is paramount to health and top level performance.  Stop by to get your YOLI FUN™ or  Alkalete™ today!

Here’s to Happy Feet this Fall!It is important to understand that your feet have a direct impact on the rest of your body and support you with each step.  A small abnormality in foot function can have a large impact on joints higher up in the body, causing pain and discomfort.  When you run, the pressure on your feet can be 3-4 times your body weight.  Even walking can produce more pressure than the sum of your body weight.

The American Podiatric Medical Association says that the average person takes 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day.  That adds yo to about 115,000 miles in a lifetime or more than 4 times the circumference of the globe.  That is a lot of walking with ill-fitting shoes or painful feet!

Getting your feet and gait analyzed can help identify imbalances that may be holding you back from performing at your best.  Knee, hip, and back pain may actually be coming from your feet!

FromSeptember 1 through November 15, 2011 I am offering a Computerized Gait Scan & Postural Analysis for $65- a 35% savings!  Also, from September 1 through November 15, 2011,Prescription Orthotics are $299- a 35% fee reduction!

This is a perfect way to see how your feet are functioning and find out ways to strengthen your body and correct your posture from your feet up.   For some, orthotics may be a part of your posture & movement retraining program.  Custom orthotics by The Orthotic Group are different then other orthotics in that they help retrain your feet with each step reducing pain and discomfort.  It’s time to step out of pain!
